Four Men Sentenced On Driving Cases In Indiana County

Plane Wreckage Found No Survivors Among 85
A Bristol Britannia crashed into Mount Gamslahner Spitz near Innsbruck during fog. Rescue teams recovered 85 victims from a 2000 yard debris field in the alpine gully. Rescued at Sea After Amphialos Sinking Off Nova Scotia
Thirty four survivors of the Greek tanker Amphialos arrived in Halifax aboard the Canadian destroyer Athabaskan after a dramatic rescue in gale conditions. Two crew members died as the 15,800 ton vessel broke in two amid 20 foot waves off the Nova Scotia coast. Five survivors were hospitalized. Captain Stamantis Polemis and crew clung to the stern rail until rescue Sunday afternoon. The 300 foot bow section later sank.

Armed Guards Precede FEC Freights On Rails
An AP report from St. Augustine Florida notes four Florida East Coast Railway freight trains were dynamited last month and, despite a strike, the line now runs with armed guards leading the trains.
