Truck-Train Crash Narrows to Rescue at Bridge
In Susquehystown Pennsylvania a locomotive pinned a truck against Kagoun Creek bridge. Firefighters used acetylene torches to free two men, John Kortyna 18 Cherry Valley and Glenn Long 36 Burgenstown, both in fair condition at Allegheny General Hospital. Runaway Truck Causes One Death Near Meadville
A tractor trailer laden with 13 tons of steel ran away on Route 102 near Meadville Pennsylvania and rammed an auto, killing Gerald Becker 24 and Army Leonard Otis 21 of Eric. Helen Louise Bovard 24 of Wesleyville was seriously injured along with another student. The truck driver escaped injury.

Ist. Set. Thomas J. Pellegrene of the 465th Anti-aircraft Artillery Battalion bade farewell as he departed Heilbronn Germany for the Third Reinforcement Depot Marburg for overseas separation in the European Theater. He enlisted August 24 1942 trained at Fort Eustis and Camp Davis. Pellegrene separated January 31 1946 to take civilian employment with the U S Civil Service and is stationed in Heidelberg Germany.
