Injunction Ordered On Florence Miners Dispute
U S District Judge Barron McCune in Pittsburgh issued a permanent injunction ordering Florence Mining Co. miners to return to work by 12 01 a m Monday. A 59 year old man was killed and his 32 year old son was seriously injured when a 30 foot conveyor assembly toppled during dismantling at the Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal Co. tipple in Ernest. Robert Owen Dodson died at the scene from a fractured skull. Daniel Dodson remained in very serious condition at Indiana Hospital. Both men, employed by Conemaugh Coal & Construction Corp., were cutting bolts when the structure fell at about 10 20 a m yesterday. The elder Dodson fell into McGees Creek. the younger Dodson was freed and transported by ambulance. Coroner Thomas Streams ruled the death as accidental.
