In Saltsburg Route 286 curve near Crash Corner caused injuries to Thomas Shondremyer and David Woodward, with damage to a residence and lawn totaling about 4,600 dollars. Women freed in Zaire held hostage still
Marxist guerrillas in Zaire released two women Carrie Hunter 21 of California and Emilie Bergmann 25 of the Netherlands after nearly six weeks of captivity. They arrived at Kigoma Tanzania in good shape and were to be flown to Dar es Salaam. An American man Kenneth Smith, 22, remained a hostage with no new details.
