France to Help Run Djibouti After Independence

France will grant independence to Djibouti on Monday but keep key roles. French troops and technicians will stay to defend, operate airports, ports, power and communications as the new government forms. Burglars Hit Mobile Home in Alverda and More

An unknown thief forced entry into Elizabeth Dindos’s mobile home in Green Township between 10 and 11 45 yesterday and stole items valued at about 540. State police reported the burglary and named Ponczak and Karen Porter as persons related to the incident. The Blairsville area board approved personnel changes and budget actions including resignations, new hires, a salary increase for non contract staff, a labor negotiator, a reading supervisor, higher driver instructor pay, and a traveling sabbatical for a staff member.

Pedestrian Injured In District Accident

Fifteen persons were injured in traffic accidents across multiple districts yesterday and today. Donald C. Findley, 43, of Penn Run escaped serious harm after being struck while crossing Route 119 at Legislative Route 32141, and was admitted to Indiana Hospital. Morris Goral, 29, of Indiana, caused the crash. Several other drivers and passengers were treated and released at Indiana Hospital. damages ranged from $150 to $3,500 across incidents in Shelocta Purchase Line Rayne Two Big Run Dilltown Rossiter.
