Washington AP reports the U.S. Office of Education will allocate 35821 dollars to Pennsylvania for research into better methods of educating handicapped children. The grant aims to improve instructional approaches and student outcomes in special education programs across the state.

Allegheny Grand Jury Indicts Man

An Allegheny County grand jury indicted Walter Plopi of McKeesport for bribery and corrupt solicitation after police said he offered State Sen. Jack E. McGregor $300 to influence Dist. Atty. Robert W. Duggan. Plopi’s arrest followed surveillance of the December 23 payment. McGregor and Sgt. Albert G. Pfatt testified. Plopi is free on $10,000 bond.
