A strong field formed for the Parnell Handicap Match and Cab Championship Qualifying at Indiana Country Club. James L. Jack led the Handicap with net 64 despite a self-imposed two-stroke penalty for striking the flagstaff. Bill Plasca won low gross and Rohan led medal in Qualifying Rounds. Harald Gammons set a new course record of 70, going 36 on front and 34 back for a 70. Second round scheduled next Thursday. Richard Pomean of Heilwood attended on business.

OSU professor confesses to slaying coed Theora Hix
Ohio State University professor James H. Snook confessed in detail to fatally harming 25 year old Theora K. Hix. He said an argument over leaving town with his wife and baby led to a hammer hit and a knife wound to relieve her suffering. Snook, 49, was in jail as prosecutors prepared first degree murder charges with about twenty witnesses ready for the grand jury.

Washington June 21 A half dollar would likely cover the electricity used in an average thunderstorm the Bureau of Standards said at five cents per kilowatt hour. A single lightning flash is worth about four tenths of a cent while a severe storm flash with 1 000 000 kilowatts lasting one one hundred thousandth of a second represents only one thousandth of a kilowatt hour.

Death claims county native in Youngstown home
Mrs Curtis, a native of Indiana County, died in Youngstown on June 19 at 11:90 am. Daughter of John Mitchell and wife of Edward White, she belonged to the Christian Church. Police seize alleged good beer found in car near New Alexandria
Sergt. Burch of the Indiana state police stopped an automobile near New Alexandria last evening. Six and one half barrels of alleged good beer were found inside. The car was driven by Jim Coleman a Negro. The vehicle and its contents were moved to Greensburg Barracks for custody.
