Harmony meeting of actors breaks up in disorder

New York June 20 WPA harmony meeting of the American Federation of Actors called by President Sophie Tucker broke up in disorder early today as a group of Broadway stars including Harry Richman Morton Downes Milton Berle and Rudy Vallée rushed from the scene. Three police cars quelled the disturbance but no arrests were made. Erin Mack a mimic said he was bitten by Helen Johnson a suppporter of the Tucker faction. The meeting was to answer charges by the Associated Actors and Artists of America AFL that AFL officials misdirected relief funds. A vote of confidence for Tucker was prevented by the abrupt termination.

Mrs Anna Pantall Reese 73 died Saturday evening at her son Clyde Reeses home in Rossiter. Funeral held today at 2 p m in Clyde Reeses house with burial in Circle Hill Cemetery Punxsutawney. She born Alyburg, member of Presbyterian Church. Survived by husband David married 1869 and six children, one brother and three sisters. She held numerous education related posts and affiliations.

Fire destroys cotton storage in Angouleme warehouses

Quarantine Enforced in Lackawanna Borough

In Olyphant June 20 a quarantine is placed on a lane named Nale venko's Court after 11 year old Joseph Refar fell ill. County Health Director J J Bendick ordered guards at both ends of the street. Fourteen families reside in the quarantined area.

Wall of Water Hits Ferryboat in Buffalo Creek Flood

A wall of water caused by a burst clamk in Worthington district sent a Freeport ferryboat downstream 75 feet at 4 30 Sunday morning. The Ethand Evans operated boat was nearly crushed against cement piers of the Pennsylvania Railroad bridge as a shore cable saved it. Three cars and a truck were aboard during the ride.
