Carpenter and longtime Homer City resident McAnulty died from a fractured skull and internal injuries after a ladder slipped while on a roof project on Columbia Street. His 12 year old son Herbert was hurt after falling from a porch roof. McAnulty was active in the Methodist Episcopal church and local youth groups. Koozer J Clair Irwin and Jack Dunlap led a raid that uncovered seven dynamite cases in an abandoned coal mine near Shanktown. Officers found 100 gallons capacity still 500 gallons of hooch and 40 barrels of mash at Porkos home. Eleven dynamite cases had been used to manufacture moonshine.
