Auto crashes in May report high fatalities in Harrisburg
Harrisburg June 18 Excessive speed caused most of the 8705 auto accidents reported for May by the Motor Vehicle Bureau. J H Glazier said most crashes were preventable. There were 154 killed and 9104 injured during the month. Pedestrians accounted for 65 percent of fatalities.

First Aid Teams Compete For $200 In Colver Meet
Fifteen first aid teams with about 200 contestants vied for cash prizes at Ebensburg Coal Co’s first annual first-aid meet in Colver on June 18. Spectators packed the recreation field as teams from employees Boy Scouts and local schools demonstrated safety skills.
