Electric Chair For Black Man In Georgia Rape Case
In Reidsville Georgia on June 17 a 25 year old Black man James Brown was condemned by a three minute jury verdict for raping a white woman on May 6. He faces execution by electric chair at the state prison. The trial lasted three hours at Sylvania after an earlier May 22 conviction. He also faced a second rape charge in Screven County but was not tried on that count. He had escaped from a Bullock County convict camp where he was serving a sentence for forgery.

Tiny Donna Mae Randash, smallest of Randash quadruplets, died just before midnight, 65 hours after birth. The other three siblings, two girls Dorothy and Dolores and a boy Dean, weigh 2 pounds 15 ounces and 3 pounds 5 ounces, and are in good health. The mother Mrs Edward Randash and father were informed of the outcome. Doctor Elna Howard noted the survivors have an excellent chance, while the tiny infant had required oxygen and eyedropper feeds after birth.
