Mrs J J Motlvaine of Indi ana opened the session as first vice president and delegates were welcomed by Mrs Fred W Morgan chair of the local committee. George W Patterson of Philadelphia spoke as president of the General Missionary Society. Miss Ruth Williamson received a huge ovation greeting Greensburg. A gavel carved from 1807 Fairmont Church timber was presented by Mrs A J McColly of Ligonier.

Bert Ote a well known Justice of the Peace of River Points attended the day’s calleta in the office of the Squire in Armstrong County. McLain Ralph Stewart and Joe McCall of Brishvalley were among Friday Indiana business visitors. R De Von of Tunnelton was in town yesterday on legal business.
Wallace Nordby of Philadelphia Street, titled generalissimo of the Indiana and Ritz Theatres, returned home to a birthday surprise staged by his wife. Guests entered in darkness, a single hall light revealed one guest, then the lights burst on with a party of refreshments, conversation, singing and dancing.
Adam Schochek 52 of Palmerton shot and killed his 16 year old son Joseph then killed himself at their Lehighton home after brooding over imprisonment on an intoxication charge brought by his wife. He crept onto the porch and fired through a screen door striking Joseph in the neck, then fired a second shotgun blast into his own head.
The Bell School in Washington township will hold its second annual reunion on Wednesday, June 25. The program includes music, America, prayer, a welcoming address by Elva Jamison, readings by Mrs. Olive Coleman, minutes and treasurer’s report, election of 1933 officers, more music, and a roll call of teachers and pupils with responses noting enrollment figures.

Wilkes-Barre Pa June 14 ins Certification by the County Commissioners of the election returns of Luzerne county for the May 20 primary was expected today or Monday following the court en banc decision declaring that perforation of the ballots was not mutilation or violation of the primary act. The court’s ruling advances the legal battle over the Luzerne vote. Charges had been brought by Francis Shunk Brown’s attorneys that perforation in 374 precincts invalidated ballots, with specific objections in Wilkes-Barre City Eighth Ward Second Precinct.
Two residents of Toms River New Jersey were found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to die in the electric chair for the death of Robert Evans husband of Mrs Hattie Evans. The crime occurred at the Evans cottage in Lakehurst after his Navy discharge. Albert Duffy a friend was killed with him. Both men were beaten to death.
