Harrisburg AP The House approved a new compensation scale for owners of diseased farm animals to be destroyed, moving to 100 percent of appraised value. Maximums per animal type rose: horses or mules 200, nonregistered cattle 400, purebred cattle 500, nonregistered sheep 50, purebred sheep 100, nonregistered swine 150, registered swine 300, nonregistered goats 25, registered goats 50.

Paratroopers Wound Seven Guerrillas in Belfast Clashes
British paratroopers wounded seven Ulster Protestant guerrillas during a second consecutive night of unrest in Belfast. The UDA denied firing on the troops as 12 members were arrested and weapons seized in a Sunday raid. Over 100 women and children demonstrated peacefully before youths blocked roads and rocks were thrown at troops.
