Washington AP reports Tricia Nixon and Edward Finch Cox will wed this afternoon in the White House Rose Garden with 400 guests. Weather may shift the ceremony to the East Room if rain comes. Bulk Oil Blast Kills Young Man
A bulk oil plant explosion at an American Oil Co facility near Logan West Virginia killed a young man identified as Argus Fitzgerald from near Chapmanville. The blast sent flaming oil across U S 119 into Island Creek, damaging a mobile home and destroying several buildings as a hillside fire burned nearby. No other injuries were reported. A service station night manager said Fitzgerald had just returned from Charleston with a load of gasoline for a 20 000 gallon storage tank.
