C A Commer of Hillsdale and Mead Duglass of Cherry Tree R D were victims of an automobile accident when the car they rode crashed into a tree. They had been traveling from Ohio for 48 hours and were seven miles from Butler when the crash occurred. They were taken to the hospital by truck drivers after the car left the road. Duglass suffered a facial wound and a cut on a trot. Conner had a broken leg and multiple facial and body lacerations. Quick recovery wishes came from many friends.

Fire Pumper Taken to Pittsburgh for Repairs

Tragic Condor Crash on Last Chance Mountain
In Livingston Manor New York June 12 a Condor of American Air Lines crashed leaving seven dead. Crew chief Captain Daniel E. Ox led troopers in recovering charred remains including stewardess Margaret Huckeby pilot Clyde Holbrook and co-pilot John Tate Barron along with four Buffalo passengers Harry H Pinsley J L W Bader W A Cass and H C Coppins. State police labored through foggy night to identify victims as locals watched. Investigators believe heavy fog over Sullivan County caused the crash after Holbrook reported over Newark at 5 30 pm and deviated from the usual route toward Albany. The Condor was located by Devlin with help from local fliers Mangan Hopkins Halleck and Lord.
