Baseball results from Indiana Independents and others

Indiana Independents beat the Clymer Reserves 13 to 9 at Clymer on Thursday. An error in the last inning let Homer City defeat Indiana Independents at Normal 66 to 1. Marion Center beat Stafford 9 to 6 in Marion on June 9. Stafford suffered its first defeat in nine games. Richmond defeated Covede and Juneau recently, with Pifer pitching for Richmond. Marchand won two Marion field games on June 6, 6 to 5 over Horatio and 9 to Normal over Georgeville. Normal will play Kiski at Salzeburg tomorrow. A battalion accompanies the team. Homer City faces Company F at Normal Park on Tuesday. Crab battery McConnaughey and Brandon to be presented. Kid Bennett pitched both games for Indiana High School Independents on Thursday, fanning 12 in the 1-0 win over Homer.

Marion Center Plans a Busy Fourth of July Festival

Marion Center will host a full day Fourth of July celebration with games, a charade, a float contest, a grand parade, and evening fireworks. The Flamejine Band will perform, committees oversee music Ambience and program, advertising, decorating, and more, all aimed at a memorable event.

Berlin Empfield Normal baseball pitcher and Harold P Scott senior class president at the Normal School publish a poetry book titled Just a Score containing 20 poems. Sold for 25 cents.
