Washington June 9 Senate leaders and Southern senators met to decide if they would filibuster the wage hour bill and protested a compromise delaying a fixed date for a 40 cent minimum. The plan would raise to 25 cents now, 30 cents next year, then rely on industrial boards to reach 40 cents by seven years with possible exceptions for employment. The 44 hour to overtime rule would start immediately, then 42 hours next year and 40 hours in year three. The group may not finish this week and a Senate House panel sought a compromise on a 3.722 billion relief and public works package as Congress rushes to conclude business.
