Man Falls Dead From Umbrella Hit In Chicago Rain

A drunken man slurred along in the rain when another man raised his umbrella and the tip pierced the chest. The struck man collapsed outside a restaurant and died. The weapon was the umbrella point. the assailant walked away. Body sent to the county morgue.

Highway Work Continues On Benjamin Franklin Highway

PUNXSUTAWNEY June 6 Prof Reid B Tietrick native of Beaver Township and former county superintendent of Jefferson County schools died at his Carlisle home Tuesday night after a March stroke and subsequent decline He was 63 born in Beaver Township son of Leander and Susan Tietrick and taught in Sugar Hill Clarington Richardsville and Brockway before his 1896 election to the county superintendent post.
