Government May Recall Ford Cars Light Trucks

Government officials consider recalling up to 6.2 million Ford Motor Co vehicles due to engine cooling fan blade failures that could injure workers under the hood. Four Injured In Area Traffic Mishaps Summary

In the past 24 hours four people were slightly hurt in area road accidents. A three car chain reaction at 1:04 p.m. on Church St west of Seventh involved Cristi Hvozda 6, Anna Hvozda 38 Homer City R. D. 2, and Dan Mollo Jr. 34 Homer City. Jay McCleary 31 uninjured. Damages about 1500. At 3 p.m. on Route near Shelocta Shelman Stenman 1 treated for minor injuries. Gyvergyi Ivanka fined 100 for biting neighbor’s finger in Budapest dog dispute. Route 422 near Shelocta incident damaged 1300. An elderly driver observed after collision on N Eighth St Indiana. A two car crash at 4:04 p.m. at N Fourth St and 6th Ave Indiana. Salvadore Bertolino 47 and Theresa Muller 69 unharmed. damages 450. Parked car on Philadelphia St near Sixth St damages 550. Punxsutawney truck-car sideswipe at 6:25 p.m. on Route 119. Michael Wallace 317 South J Johnstown and Jon Grube Punxsutawney R. D. G. damages 2000 and 75 respectively.

Awards Presented To Punxs'y Students

The Punxsutawney Area High School Class Day celebrated 326 graduates with top scholastic and athletic honors. Tracey Peace led scholastics. Greta Nicholson and others earned honors. Bill Clemente and Karen Burkett were outstanding senior athletes. Bill also received booster and varsity club awards. Donations and scholarships totaling thousands accompanied checks to the Boles Foundation and for the all-night party. 34 Mary Ann Irvin scholarships totaling about $8,000 were also announced.

Armstrong Commissioners authorize bids for Armsdale Manor project

Beverly Hills Club fire findings released

A private three man team concluded the Beverly Hills Supper Club blaze was caused by a short circuit in a fountain pump power cord and burned for over an hour before discovery. The inquiry tied the fire to the Zebra Room near the front and traced rapid spread up a steel beam into the attic, with most victims in the Cabaret Room as people tried to flee.
