Before the Wisconsin primary Democratic leaders were cool to General MacArthur returning to the presidency. Memorial Day Observance in Elderton Highlights Parade and Games
Elderton marked Memorial Day with a 2 PM parade starting at United Presbyterian Church led by the Elderton Band under Jacob Ortman and featuring American Legion posts VFW color bearers and Boy Scouts from nearby towns. Floats, Lions Club, and Auxiliary groups joined. A cemetery service was officiated by Rev. Howard Amick followed by a 5-3 baseball loss to the Bove Club of Indiana. An evening festival closed the day at the church.
