Harrisburg AP reports the General State Authority opened bids for a multipurpose building at Pennsylvania State University's McKeesport campus. Apparent bidders include Landau Bros. Pittsburgh for general construction at 240000 dollars, James C. Eastley Inc. Pittsburgh for heating and ventilating at 131429 dollars, Lawrence Plumbing & Heating Frank for plumbing at 89890 dollars, and Tico Electric Inc. McKeesport for electrical at 84000 dollars.

Fisher Scientific Hails New Products and Safety Law

Inmate Escapes While Quizzing Kids at School

Quin zel Covington, 26, an inmate from Maryland Penitentiary serving five years for narcotics, vanished after leaving Spring Hill Elementary School at 3 10 pm with two guards and a fellow inmate. Authorities say the escape is the first in a program allowing convicts to participate in outside activities like lectures.
