Accidents Toll Hits US Child in Saltsburg
Leroy Steffy seven year old son of Mr and Mrs Glenn Steffy of Saltsburg is in critical condition with a fractured skull and internal injuries from a three o'clock accident along the B P Highway three miles north of Marion Center. He and two companions were playing when he ran to chase a little girl and collided head on with a Ford driven by John G Kutler of Munhall Pennsylvania. He was taken to the Indiana Hospital after relatives brought him to his grandfather's home where the severity prompted X rays. The story continues on page two.

KITTANNING Pa June 1 UP Constable William D Raper Leechburg has returned home after his acquittal in a second trial over the death of Joseph Conte a Leechburg soft drink maker The jury deliberated three hours before the acquittal In the first trial he was found guilty and sentenced to life The state offered no direct evidence relying on witnesses who said they saw Raper and Conte together on September 22 the day Conte disappeared Conte's body was found three days later at Shady Plain near Apollo slain with a shotgun.
