Pittsburg police and detectives cannot determine a motive for the shooting of John Joscher, 30, and his wife, 25, in their Southside home. Officers weigh jealousy, murder, or accidental shooting as possible explanations as both are treated. doctors expect the wife to recover and the husband to have a fighting chance.
In Scranton, June, Robert Priem twenty one shot and killed his father Herman Priem forty five a Dunmore merchant after a dispute over a broken faucet. The father is reported to have driven him out then abused him and threatened him with a pick handle. The son allegedly drew a revolver and shot him in the hall, the wound proving fatal within an hour. Young Priem is at large.
