State to Add Indiana County Roads to State Highways

Fire at Sherwyn Hotel Evacuates 450 Guests in Pittsburgh
A storage room fire on the fourth floor of the Sherwyn Hotel Friday night forced the evacuation of about 150 guests and 300 attendees at a dance. The blaze, caused by an undetermined source, sent smoke through the third and fourth floors with no injuries reported.

Two Killed In Accident On Route 22 Near Hollidaysburg
A Friday night head on collision between an auto and a panel truck on Route 22 about 14 miles east of Hollidaysburg killed Mrs. Mary Farrell of Burnham and Mrs. Florence Simkins of Lewistown on arrival at Altoona Hospital. Their daughters Catherine Farrell and Suellen Simkins, both 17, were in critical condition, and the other driver Patrick Rozer, 25, of Altoona, was in fair condition.
