Three men were sentenced in Indiana County Court after pleading guilty. George Blystone 31 of Indiana Rk D 2 received one to two years in Western Penitentiary and costs for larceny of a motor vehicle. George C Schultz of Robinson R D 2 was fined 200 dollars and costs on morals charges involving a minor girl with further sentence suspended. Steve Matty Creekside R D 1 got a 25 dollar fine and costs on a charge of failing to stop, with his sentence suspended.

Celebration plans outlined for Indiana county centennial
At a Sesquicentennial group meeting of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce last night ground work was laid for a summer 1953 celebration. Boroughs and townships will be invited to August meetings to shape plans. A strong central committee will direct promotion while the Chamber stays engaged but does not helm the project. A non profit corporation may be formed to manage finances and liabilities.

The 11th hour agreement between Aluminum Company of America and CIO Steelworkers averted a 15000-member walkout at nine plants. The deal includes a 2 1/4 cent an hour raise retroactive to March and a modified union shop. Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp also announced a contract with the CIO United Steelworkers affecting 5000 workers. Steel firms sped up production to meet civilian demand, though Defense Production Administrator Fowler warned it could take months for steady civilian steel flow and projected a 20 million ton production loss if disrupted.

Widow of brain burglar Wright admits burglaries
Roberta Wright 27 widow of Millard Wright known as the brain burglar has admitted acting as a lookout in more than twenty burglaries across four states. State Police in Butler said the arrest followed a lengthy probe begun before Wright's suicide. Wright’s widow accompanied by a chaperone toured with officers, identifying houses and an estimated $25,000 worth of goods. Bayne Wilks was absolved of complicity. Wright rose to notoriety in 1947 after prefrontal lobotomy and later died in Butler jail awaiting transfer.
