Kidnapped INS Chief Goette Held by Mongolian Bandits
Reports from Peiping say John Goette, chief of the International News Service bureau in Peiping, has been kidnapped by Mongolian bandits and is said to be held for a ransom of 100000 dollars. The Tokyo Yemuri urged cooperation with INS reporters to aid his release. Goette, born in Philadelphia, joined INS in 1926 and has long covered Chinese affairs. He spent time in naval reserve, studied in Philadelphia and Temple, and reported as a war correspondent during regional crises. His mother and sister reside in Philadelphia.

Details of the mysterious slaying of Mrs Martha Westwood wife of a McKees Rocks peace justice remained unsolved today three weeks after she was shot in the bedroom of the Suburban Westwood apartment. Electrician Thomas Borden is being held for questioning and described a death premonition and a dark haired foreigner. He said he saw the killer on two occasions and would recognize him. Auto crashes claim lives in eastern Pa weekend
