Parking Authority Reports Self Support and Growth
The Indiana Borough Parking Authority met this morning to review its financial status. Secretary treasurer Harry Jones said the authority is self supporting, having borrowed from local banks to develop two municipal lots behind the Mack building on Philadelphia Street and at the former Coca Cola plant site. The lots are paying for themselves and used by the public beyond expectations. Interest and principal payments are current. The authority, formed to provide off street parking for shoppers, is studying future sites and notes no tax money is used. members are appointed by the Borough Council.
