The Fourth Annual Boys Camp for Potato Pig and Calf Clubs runs August 10 to 11 at Camp William Penn near Georgeville with equipment provided by the clubs. A Threshermen’s Picnic drew 250 attendees at Campbell’s Mills Park on July 28. A sheep drenching demonstration by W. L.uer east of Marion Center on July 30 will use blue stone treatment for stomach worms and nodular disease. Adult Poultry Club meets August 3 at Griffith Hall in Marion Center with H H Kauffman attending. Poultry culling demonstrations take place August 5 near Ear Miller Brushvalley, August 8 near A McCoy Center Township, and August 4 near Grove Chapel with Kauffman leading.

Mrs. Alice Girton Smith wife of Rev M B Smith of Clearfield died at her home July 24 after a long life beginning January 15 1854 She married January 10 1876 and the couple served in the Methodist ministry for over 50 years They leave six children five grandchildren and two sisters Funeral services were held at her late home Wednesday at three o'clock with private interment in Clearfield Cemetery

Bedale Named Manager of State Workmen's Insurance Fund
Frederick I. Bedale of Greensburg has been named manager of the State Workmen's Insurance Fund in Harrisburg. He succeeds Gabriel Moyer of Lebanon, who resigned effective July 1. Bedale has long represented the fund on the executive committee of Pennsylvania’s compensating rate lag and inspection bureau and began state service in 1917 as chief of the coal mine section.

In Braddock on July 27 Margaret Crawford 23 her sister Elizabeth 19 and John Sullivan 20 were hospitalized after a woman Lil lian T Helen 20 of Turtle Creek allegedly shot them. Police say Helen attacked Elizabeth Crawford who she accused of alienating her husband’s affections. Helen held her fifteen month old baby during the assault as she confronted the Crawford home.

Big Steamer Is Helpless Near Miami in Sinking Risk
The steamship Antaldo San Giorgio en route New Orleans to London is crippled with a damaged rudder about fifty miles northeast of Miami. A heavy sea runs as reports say the vessel may sink. Ward line steamer Orizaba rushes to assist but no word has reached officials. The SeminoIe liner Clyde also reportedly considered a rescue but not confirmed. The San Giorgio, 6493 gross tons, is owned by a national navigation company. Orizaba sailed from New York for Miami with 167 passengers. Captain J K Jones commands.
