Death of Jess Albarello in Conemaugh River incident
The body of Jess Albarello, a South Blairsville resident, was recovered from the Conemaugh River near the Blairsville Bairdstown bridge after a passerby saw it just before 7 p.m. Coroner John Woods ruled the death accidental following police investigation. Albarello, a native of Italy, had lived in the area about 35 years and was unmarried.

Greensburg July 25 Elsie Janis stage and radio star was seriously injured in a car wreck near Greensburg. Her husband Gilbert Wilson driver of the car escaped with minor injuries. They were found near their home north of Tarrytown and taken to hospital where Janis was reported in critical condition with possible skull fracture and internal injuries. Rowboat sinks kill boy nine in river accident
Pittsburgh July 25. Collapse of a home made rowboat in the Allegheny river today caused the death of nine year old Carl Skaryak of Etna and endangered two older companions. The youths Frank Bubosh twelve and Frank Klysz thirteen, both of Etna, were dragged from the river by occupants of another boat as the craft sank. Skaryak's body was recovered with grappling hooks.
