Mrs Ada Heilman 68, widow of Jackson Heilman of Elderton, was admitted to Kittanning hospital with a broken ankle back injury and other wounds after falling 86 feet through rotted boards covering an abandoned water well while berry picking near Elderton. Accompanied by neighbor Mrs David Alexander, the incident prompted immediate rescue efforts.

Borough policeman Edward Allen charged Augustine Bunzo with stealing Irvin Whitesell grocery owner on Souch Thirteenth street reported a July incident. Bunzo sold an order of fruit at Whitesell store and asked to drive Whitesell's Chrysler. later the truck owner found his car missing and believed Bunzo would return.
