In Erie Pa on July 25 Alvin Winfield and his brother Harry died when a sailboat capsized in a gust while a picnic party waited on shore. In Youngstown Ohio Harry Rosenbloom and Susie Herman, both teens, perished during a lake pocketbook scramble on Lake Cohassett. In Wilkes-Barre Pa Peter Pokorney drowned while swimming the Susquehanna River. In Uniontown Pa William Hall aged 18 drowned in the H C Frick reservoir after diving into eight feet of water.
