Morgan Williams 18 Brenizer near Blairsville Cecil Dunlap 18 Derry Roy Castnet 19 Brentzer were jailed after a hearing by Justice Joseph Walton Greensburg for the theft of 14 new typewriters valued at 1400 from Derry Township High School. The trio was arrested on Latrobe road by State Police after attempting to sell the machines at Fort Pitt Typewriter Co Pittsburgh. Dunlap is son of the school board treasurer W D Dunlap, creating a curious prosecutor conflict in the case.

Langham tied to death in blast that killed two children

Zervos Given Life Sentence in Serpentine Murder
Greensburg July 24 State Police guarded the courtroom as Mike Zervos a New Kensington Greek was sentenced to life imprisonment by Judge W Domvartos for first degree murder in the Serpentine road killing of Sam Fillas between New Kensington and Vandergrift. Fillas was found Oct 5 1928 in his car with a shovel wound. Zervos had faced federal narcotics charges previously. Police escorted him to the Western Penitentiary after the ruling.

Blast Fatal to Cherry Tree Man Spangler
Stephen Marusuck, 48, of Emeigh, died after a premature dynamite blast in a Chaney Tree Coal Co. mine at Cherrytree. He failed to escape and suffered a skull fracture and severe burns.
