Townsend Targeted by Gun Attack Near Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh July 24 Thorace Townsend a notable politician was wounded when a prowler fired on him at his countryside home near Coraopolis. A bullet fractured his right leg as Townsend confronted the intruder who claimed to want to buy a cow. Townsend, in hospital, said the gun jammed before the assailant could finish him.
