Topaz War Relocation Center Now a Desert Wasteland
West-central Utah’s Topaz camp once housed 8232 people of Japanese descent under barbed wires and guards. By 1945 gates opened and residents dispersed to Delta Salt Lake City and the West Coast. Today only foundations rubble and red ants mark the site recalled in interviews with former residents and staff.

Twin Doctors Marcus Twins Found Dead In New York
Nationally known gynecologists Dr Cyril C Marcus and Dr Stewart L Marcus, identical twins, were found dead in their Sutton Terrace apartment on a decomposed state after neighbors reported a foul odor. Police described it as an apparent self‑initiated death. autopsies were pending toxicology results. Both professors at Cornell and practitioners at New York Hospital left behind two daughters and a rich medical legacy.
