New Liquid Coal Method For Ships From Penn State
STATE COLLEGE July 22 4 A new method of making liquid coal that dissolves coal more completely was reported at Pennsylvania State College. Dr Walter M Fuchs professor of fuel technology discovered the process which mixes 40 percent liquid with oil to yield more heat than coal or oil alone. The liquid coal oil fuel could extend ship cruising range and store under a water seal to reduce fire risk. The coal substance is extracted from blcantinous coal using acids then dissolved in surfural from agricultural wastes. Potential uses include resins plastics and cheaper gasoline via hydrogenation at lower pressures.

FLA GIVES LOAN TO BRITAIN
