John Anderson Jr a 15 year old from Greenwich Green Township lies in Spangler Hospital in serious condition after a .22 rifle bullet struck his neck and lodged beneath the right ear while berry picking yesterday. Brother Jay Anderson and Marie Douglass witness say she fired to scare them away. police have not filed charges. The Douglass family are prominent farmers in Green Township.

Dorothy Faye Henry, 17, died at the family home on Fast Oak Street after nearly a day of unconsciousness and critical condition despite treatment. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P. M. Irwin Lumber Mill Destroyed in Major Fire
Irwin town, July 21. A large fire destroyed the H. B. Detar Lumber Company last night. One fireman, James Bouldin, was injured with burns to his right arm as a roof section collapsed. The blaze began in the office and storage plant, spread to a nearby planing mill, and damaged four lumber stacks. Five fire companies from Jeannette, Herminie, Harrison City, Manor and Irwin fought the flames for over three hours, snarling Lincoln Highway traffic while about 600 spectators watched. The cause was believed accidental from spontaneous combustion on the second floor of the main shed.
