At Cape Kennedy a Atlas Agena rocket carried two Sentry satellites and a tiny pygmy satellite into orbit. The mission aims to detect secret nuclear explosions from surface to deep space. Flight was delayed by mechanical troubles and full success will be assessed about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Harrisburg report outlines a tentative Republican proposal to reapportion the state Senate under the equal population rule. It would add a ninth seat in Philadelphia and redraw most district lines, with some incumbents up for elimination or pairing, while Democrats face no immediate reductions.

Joy Manufacturing Co. reports net income of 4.30 per share for the nine months ending June 30. Earnings total 7,726,875, up 83 percent from the prior year, while 1964 earnings were 4,225,388 or 2.35 per share. Nine month sales reached 110,302,004, versus 93,743,962 the year before.
About 250 people attend the seventh annual Little People of America convention in Gloucester New Jersey as members underscored daily barriers. Speakers note most members work in varied fields while recognizing design biases such as shower spigots and phone mouthpieces being too high and the need for broader employment opportunities.
Alcoa announced a multi million rolling mill project five miles south of Lebanon to produce aluminum foil for packaging. Construction starts immediately with first production planned late next year. The Lebanon site will cover 600 acres and provide about 250 jobs.
In Buffalo New York a 15 year old boy had his right arm amputated after a laundry machine severed it and doctors reattached it two days earlier. Surgeon Dr Albert D Menno said a blood clotting problem forced the removal of the limb. The boy, Michael Brown, was reported in good condition after the operation.
James Campbell of Pittsburgh was arrested after blocking traffic and defying police when celebrating the birth of his first child after 19 years of marriage. He told a police magistrate he had over imbibed and faced multiple charges that were dismissed.

Ventura California AP Clyde Beatty famed wild animal trainer dies at 61 after battling cancer. Beatty survived numerous lion and tiger maulings, lost most of his stomach in 1964, and resumed performing in April 1965 before hospitalization. He began in Howe's Circus and became a legend of the ring with lions, tigers, and bears.
Sixty three members of Local 66 IUOE returned to work at the Elderton Keystone generating station project after a Friday morning walkout sparked by the firing of a union member. A meeting between Ebasco Services and IUOE is planned for Wednesday to settle the dispute. The 1,800,000 kilowatt plant is slated to operate in 1968.
A two story Falls Creek apartment fire killed 3 year old Robin Jamison and injured her mother Yvonne Jamison aged 24 and brother David aged 1. The mother and son were admitted to Maple Ave Hospital in Jefferson County.
Pittsburgh AP reports George Jenkins of McKeesport shot his son Kenneth, 17, on a farm near Irwin R.D. while hunting groundhogs. He mistook him for a groundhog and fired a .22 rifle, killing him. Police stated the incident occurred Monday night.
President Johnson announced Supreme Court Justice Arthur J. Goldberg as the new U S ambassador to the United Nations in a White House ceremony. He will succeed the late Adlai E Stevenson and depart the court to join international diplomacy seeking continued peace and the rule of law among nations.
A 60 000 lb electric motor built in 1944 and still crated blocked a Blairsville yard after a Houston truck driver misrouted around Maple Avenue. Bill Graff, Gazette staff, watched as the 98 000 lb tractor-trailer struggled 25 minutes to swing the wide load past a Walnut Street overhead. The cargo, en route from Mechanicsburg Naval Depot, was bought by a Houston firm for 3400 and valued at 32000 in 1944. The driver hoped to reach Houston by week’s end.
