The Marquis Guglielmo Marconi, inventor of wireless telegraphy, died suddenly at 3:45 pm in his Rome home. He suffered heart paralysis, with widow Countess Cristina Bezzi Scala at his bedside and daughter Eletira Elena at a seaside resort. Prime Minister Mussolini and Pope Pius XI were notified and sent condolences.

Anthony J. Charnushan of Colver was sentenced by Judge Ivan J. McKenrick to one to three years in county jail for arson. The term runs from his incarceration December 19. Mass Licenses Withdrawn in Driver Suspension Sweep
A total of 1139 automobile operator licenses were withdrawn after hearings. Suspensions numbered 86 and revocations 453.
