Fire destroys Fairman barn near Creekside road
About 9 00 Tuesday evening a fire of unknown origin destroyed the large John Fairman barn two miles from Creekside on the road to Five Points. By arousal and Creekside Fire Department arrival the barn was a blazing mass razed quickly. Loss estimated over 5000 with partial insurance. An immense crowd witnessed the flames visible for miles as nearby structures were threatened before the walls fell.

Harrisburg July 20 Formal charges of neglect of duty and inefficiency were filed today against Public Service Commission er Emerson Collins Williamsport by Gov Gifford Pinchot. A public hearing is set for August 1 at 2 o clock. Pinchot had asked Collins to resign last week after he said Collins failed to carry the full burden of a commissioner during the last thirty months. Collins replied he would quit if his health improved as expected.
