Rail derailment blamed on vandalism near Stafford

July 19 1966 an unknown cause derailed three empty freight cars near Stafford. No injuries and light damage reported. In Pittsburgh a 1951 graduate Richard Harley was found dead in his car outside a restaurant. no cause released. Indiana Progress notes July 18 burglars blew open Graff Sheak & Co. warehouse safe with no money inside and a suspicious man bought iron wedges nearby. no suspects named.

Lockheed C5A flaws alleged in whistleblower claim

Henry Durham, a former Lockheed production control manager, charges the company covered up dangerous C5A flaws and resisted his warnings. He says officials now seek a 250 million dollar taxpayer loan guarantee. Sen. Proxmire and Rep. Moorehead investigate. Durham quit in May after sending warnings dating to 1969 and 1970.
