Greensburg hosts Old Home Week August 8 to 18 with W R Hohn as general chair. A monster industrial parade will feature the event, inviting all Western Pennsylvania industries to exhibit. Firemen’s Association sessions also run through the week with planned entertainments for visitors.
Mr and Mrs J A Miller return to Indiana from Seattle where he attended a Mutual Life Insurance Co convention. He received a 10 star gold watch for selling over one quarter million dollars in insurance per year for ten years, a feat shared by only 25 agents nationwide. He also earned praise for selling over 100 policies annually for 30 years. En route they toured Yosemite Salt Lake City and Denver camping near Brook Forest at 8000 feet. In Indianapolis a concert featured Mr Rhodes and Mr Nevin with Handel Elijah selections and a finale including Mendelssohn and Elgar. clerical notes mention courthouse plans and a bank capital increase.

A Blairsville youth remains missing after being last seen near a roadhouse on the William Penn Highway Sunday evening. Police say a 16 year old boy with light hair and blue eyes, 5 feet tall and about 135 pounds, was last observed walking west along the highway after telling companions he would take a short walk. The search includes the Conemaugh River area and nearby roadhouse.

The United States Consulate in Nice was bombed today despite a 10 week police guard. Consul James Murphy linked the attack to Sacco and Vanzetti sympathizers, noting no injuries and light damage. He had warned of such an attempt and kept nightly police protection in place.
The Marion Center Community Park dancing proposal draws opposition from the Indiana County Sabbath School Association District No. 1 executive committee. They deem dancing evil and urge authorities to prohibit dancing in the park, signed July 17, 1927 by D. W. Douds and Mrs. B. B. Crawford.
In Hummelstown Pennsylvania imaginary armies fought a three day bloodless battle under Pennsylvania National Guard officers acting as commanders. Regular army officers served as umpires as about 4000 citizen soldiers maneuvered in the hills awaiting the result of the technical engagement.
