Gov. Nelson Rockefeller arrives in Chicago amid Republican rifts over nominating Nixon. Rockefeller refuses to endorse Nixon or accept second place, signaling possible third path while chairing New York’s 96 vote delegation. He plans a news conference and will address platform issues including nuclear testing and elderly care.
A Rural Valley man in serious condition at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital suffered injuries when his motorcycle struck two cars on Route 85 Saturday evening. Le By Phillippi, 38, had multiple cuts and bruises. He collided with vehicles driven by Robert Foster, 21, Rural Valley RD 1, and David Houser Jr., 31, Sagamore, about four miles east of Rural Valley. Damages were estimated at 300 to the motorcycle, 200 to the Foster car and 15 to the Houser vehicles.
President Eisenhower offered top secret national security information to Senator John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson if they personally accepted it, not through intermediaries. Kennedy stated plans to have Stevenson and Bowles receive the data on his behalf, while Salinger indicated Kennedy and Johnson would accept in person.
Mayo Kemp, 45, of the Hill District, claims self defense after a scuffle left Kathleen Hackett, 21, dead. Kemp is under police guard at Mercy Hospital with stab wounds and faces murder charges upon release.

LOS ANGELES AP Convention fatigue marks Governor James V. Blair Jr. of Missouri after illness at the Democratic National Convention. Doctors reported no serious condition after admission to Cedars at Lebanon Hospital. Blair said he was feeling fine on Sunday.
U N forces in the Congo are led by Swedish Maj. Gen. Carl von Horn as Belgian troops anger Premier Lumumba. Congolese officials threaten to ask the Soviet Union to intervene unless Belgians withdraw within three days. The U.N. Security Council planned a report on Belgium's withdrawal, amid Western concern and questions over U.N. competence. President Eisenhower's Newport vacation center cited no comment on the Soviet option.
Sen John F Kennedy sought seclusion in Hyannis after a huge Cape Cod welcome. Police put the crowd at 50 000 or more as Kennedy spoke from the Barnstable Municipal Airport. His wife Jacqueline Kennedy, expectant with their child, greeted him and the reception was described as among the gayest in memory.
Actress Audrey Hepburn delivered her first child a 9 pound boy in Luzern Switzerland on Sunday. Husband Mel Ferrer said the baby will be named Sean. The event marks Hepburns return to cinema plans after the birth.
CHICAGO AP The Republican national chairman Senator Thruston Morton of Kentucky said outside New York he has not seen strength for drafting Nelson Rockefeller. As Nixon looks set for acclamation at the July 25 convention Morton notes Rockefeller refuses to second Nixon's nomination. He dismisses talk Rockefeller contemplates disloyalty and says a Nixon Rockefeller ticket would be formidable if he joined.
A Baltimore waitress returned home to find her husband John Cooley Jr and her three children shot. Two sons aged, and Elizabeth the mother, were wounded, with John and the two boys later dead. Police say suspects are dead or unconscious. domestic troubles cited as possible motive. A 4% caliber pistol lay at Cooley’s feet.
