PRR Cites Loss With Strip Change

Ty Cobb Dies at 74 in Atlanta Hospital
Ty Cobb the Georgia Peach of baseball fame died at Emory University Hospital after a long illness. The 74 year old former Detroit Tiger star faced diabetes bursitis and a hunting accident back injury in Idaho. Cobb was born December 18 1886 near Royston Georgia and began pro baseball at 17 with Augusta. His 24 year major league career included 22 seasons with Detroit as an outfielder. He managed the Tigers six years and finished with the Philadelphia Athletics in 1928.
