Derailment Disrupts Rail Route Amid Night Crash

A heavy wreck on the B R and P line near Rossiter caused an estimated forty to ten thousand dollars in damage. A New York Central train slid from the tracks between Rockton and Curwensville, with the sixteenth car detaching near Glendale. The derailed wheel line tore ties from Glendale to Bloom’s Run before the incident was halted, as onlookers watched the wreckage.

New Rules for Balloonists Announced by Commerce

Washington announces updated safety code for balloon flights under the American Aeronautical Safety Code. The rules require ballast be poured out rather than dumped, life preservers on water flights, and passenger cards on the balloon basket with explicit conduct by riders.
