Center Township Supervisors of Indiana County Pennsylvania will receive sealed proposals at the First National Bank Homer City until 1 am Thursday August 1 1928 and open at 11 am the same day for hauling about 500 tons of traffic bound slag from Aultman Station on the Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway to County Road. Applications No 6976 cover about 6000 linear feet. Each bid must include a $100 certified check or bank draft payable to Homer National Bank Treasurer of Center Township. Proposals may be obtained from O M Lockard Secretary Treasurer or from Howes Pesler County Engineer. The Supervisors reserve the right to reject any or all bids.

San Francisco July 11 INS government officials await Washington guidance in an alleged opium-smuggling plot involving Mrs Ying Kao wife of the Chinese Vice Consul. WASHINGTON July 11 Uncle Sam changed new money for old yesterday for the first time since 1861. The currency system began a gradual revision with smaller paper and a new design. About 900,900,000 notes valued at 5 billion dollars will be replaced. Treasury not yet issuing higher denominations except $50 notes later. New paper aims to deter counterfeiting and cut costs.
