Fire at Barrett Lumber Co sawmill causes large damage

An undetermined origin fire struck the Barrett Lumber Co sawmill early today, inflicting about 100000 dollars in damages. A 1962 bid by the General State Authority to buy Thaddeus Stevens Elementary for Indiana State College was rejected, with a counteroffer of 325000 approved by the Indiana Borough School Board. In 1967, nearly 1000 Indiana campers left their temporary home to join the National Compvention at Prince Gallitzin State Park.
