Soldier dies after being dragged by car near Elizabethtown

Elizabethtown Kentucky AP reports 22 year old Larry Plants of Claysville was killed Thursday when struck and dragged roughly 50 feet by a car after an incident on U S 31 W about three miles south of Elizabethtown. Ft Knox soldier from Pennsylvania, investors probing autopsy pending. Plants and his wife lived near Elizabethtown.

Faubus Faces Five Dem Opponents in July 31 Primary

Arkansas Governor Orval Faubus runs in a seven party primary seeking a unprecedented fifth term. Opponents include McMath Alford Coffelt and Witt Stephens with others challenging Faubus on road, gambling and utility issues. McMath accuses Faubus of dominating state politics and the ballot battle centers on race and federal intervention questions.

Boom in newspaper advertising in the United States

Warren McClure, president of the Newspaper Advertising Executives Association and publisher of the Burlington Free Press, predicted a decade of the greatest boom in newspaper advertising. Football Clinic Set For Hershey

A one day clinic on the treatment of football injuries will be held Aug. 2 in Hershey for football coaches and doctors. The program is co sponsored by Big 33 Inc and the Pennsylvania Medical Society's Council of Scientific Advancement.
