149 Was Good Year In Fire Prevention

Harrisburg reports Forests and Waters Secretary M F Draemel said 1949 was the second lowest year for fires and acres burned in Pennsylvania's 40 years of forest fire prevention. 1640 fires burned 42 722 acres. cost to extinguish 84 287 and damage 95 894. The 1948 record had 842 fires and 18 000 acres.

Broken Brake Triggers Rail Wreck Near Monica
