Marion Center Area: Farmer Killed By Bull
Sherd Howard Nichols 63 of East Mahoning Two was mauled to death by a bull on his farm between Marion Center and Rochester Mills. Coroner Russell Gardner said Nichols suffered a crushed chest and internal injuries. Time of death about 10:00 a.m. He moved to the Marion Center area in 1946 and was a WWI veteran. Survived by wife Viva and ten grandchildren, among others. Funeral services Sunday at the Crawford Funeral Home with burial Oakland Cemetery.

R A Walker former editor and publisher of the weekly Saltsburg Press is listed as not good at Latrobe Hospital. The 90 year old Saltsburg resident fell ill at home this week and was admitted yesterday. He edited his paper until several years ago and was believed to be the oldest active editor in Pennsylvania. He is the second oldest Lions Club member in the United States.

Homer Youth Struck By Car Near Homer City
A ten year old Homer City youth, David Poole, is in satisfactory condition at Indiana Hospital after stepping into Route 56 traffic near the Cherry Run dam. Poole, of 260 Wiley Ave., Homer City, was struck by a car driven by Maria Casella of Dunkirk, New York, suffering injuries to the left leg and body burns.
