Two Men Die When Plane Crashes Into Lehigh Canal
Morrisville July 8. Richard Shanklin 25 of Chicago and Stanley Pengally 25 Treverton Pa died when the plane used by Wilson Agriculture Air Service crashed into the abandoned Lehigh Canal. Pengally drowned as rescuers arrived. Shanklin was trapped and died after effort to free him. Maurice Purcell 22 tractor operator on King farms witnessed the crash. The plane sheared a tree limb before plunging into the canal.
